We are a family of artists and woodworkers. We create one of a kind pieces of art by combining old-fashioned, rustic woodworking with modern graphics and technology.
All of our wood slice ornaments, magnets and chimes are hand made by us…from start to finish.
The process begins by felling the tree, and then cutting each disk individually.
Our drying process takes time, but it ensures that there will be minimal cracking as each wood slice ages.
Once the wood slices are properly dried, we sand both sides of each one, and then choose the best quality side to paint.
We then seal and paint each wood slice, one at a time. Therefore, there are subtle differences between each of our wood slice products, even ones of the same design. Each one truly is a one of a kind piece of art.
Once sealed with a clear polyurethane and painted, we meticulously adhere each word and/or cut out onto the wood slice. Our wood slice products are finished with a natural hemp cord for hanging, or a small Spears Creations sticker indicating that the item has been handcrafted.
Our wood slice ornaments are approximately 3″ to 5″ in diameter. Our wood slice magnets and chimes are approximately 2.5” to 3.5” in diameter. Size, shape and bark texture vary, but we always use the best quality disks that we have available.
Each wood slice is live edge, meaning that the bark is still intact, giving each wood slice a unique look. It is normal for a small amount of flaking to occur over time, adding even more character to each wood slice.
Please remember that our wood slice products are made from a natural material, and may degrade over time if stored or handled improperly. We recommend hanging them in a location where they will not fall to the floor. For storage, we recommend a cool, dry place without extreme temperature changes.
As with all of our wood slice products, we offer free customization to each order. We would be happy to add a name or anything else that will reasonably fit onto each wood slice. You can also request a specific color combination.
